environmental

professionals

We’re not just GIS experts or software developers. Each member of our team has a higher degree in environmental science, which means we won’t just tell you what the geospatial data says. We’ll tell you why it matters for your land.

About Skytec and our vision

At Skytec, our team is made up of environmental professionals who believe it’s possible to strike a sustainable balance between the built and natural environments.

That’s why we partner with clients all over the globe to better monitor and manage the vast landscapes they steward. Together, with the right technologies, we can improve our environment and our world.

How we’re different

Intelligence, not just imagery

You don’t need more data. You need environmental intelligence to make the best decisions.

Competitive pricing

We offer enterprise-quality software and services, without the enterprise bloat or prices.

Cutting-edge technology

We operate at the intersection of geospatial AI, global satellite imagery, and environmental expertise.

The Skytec story

It all started as a hobby. When a mutual friend realized Andy and Bill had the same drone, he connected the two. As they flew their drones at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, TN back in 2014, they started chatting about how revolutionary drone technology was.

“Before founding Skytec, I worked in GIS, creating static reports and maps that took years to deliver,” says Skytec CTO Andy Carroll. “By the time the report was done, the project was dead.”

With drones, GIS mapping could take a few days to deliver, not years. With that idea, Skytec was born in 2015. By 2024, Skytec graduated from drones and UAS and sold the drone portion of their business to focus on low-orbit satellite monitoring.

By staying at the leading edge of monitoring technology, Skytec is able to deliver environmental intelligence to clients about any landscape on Earth in near real time.

We think like founders, because we are founders. We bring the urgency and disciplined prioritization of entrepreneurship to every client relationship.

03

Innovation

The geospatial technology landscape is evolving faster than anyone predicted. We stay at the frontier not because it’s trendy, but because our clients need us to.

04

Excellence

Our work could end up influencing legal or infrastructure decisions that could have ramifications for generations. We hold ourselves to a standard that matches those stakes.

05

Respect

We do this work because we care deeply about the places and people we serve, and that care shows up in how we work — and who we work with.
